With a clock that always said 3:14

With a clock that always said 3:14

LyricsTwelve Thirty by The Mama’s & The Papa’s
Adaption: Hans Wisbrun (Pi-day 2014, text under construction)

I used to live in No Maths City
Everything there was dark and dirty
Outside my window was a steeple
With a clock that always said 3:14.

Young girls are coming to Maths classes
And in the morning I can see them studying
I can no longer keep my blinds drawn
And I can’t keep myself from teaching.

At first so strange to feel so friendly
To say Solve This and really mean it
To feel these changes happ’ning in me
But not to notice till I feel it.

Young boys are coming to Maths classes
And in the morning I can see them studying
I can no longer keep my blinds drawn
And I can’t keep myself from teaching.

[Cloudy waters cast no reflection
Images of functions lie there stagnant
Vectors, they seem to bounce in no direction
Lines lie there shattered into fragments]

Young kids are coming to Maths classes
And in the morning I can see them studying
I can no longer keep my blinds drawn
And I can’t keep myself from teaching.
